No-exam life insurance

What qualifies someone for instant underwriting, how the process works, and what happens if you do not qualify.

Most insurers now provide instant underwriting: for those within specified age and amount ranges, they underwrite using the application, prescriptions, driving records and similar sources without a medical examination. Approvals sometimes happen the same business day. Each quote here shows whether an exam is required, might be required, or is not needed.

What it changes

No exam does not mean no investigation. Everything you state is checked; policies issued based on false information can be rescinded within two years. If the carrier finds problems in their data, they may ask for testing; you can decide then whether to proceed.

Who tends to qualify

Usually those under around sixty seeking coverage within the carrier's instant-decision limit, in good health with no tobacco use in at least a year or more. Some carriers will take recent lab work from a doctor visit instead of a fresh exam.

Usually a thirty-minute or shorter appointment with a paramedic at your home or workplace in the Hawthorne area, with no charge. Results can improve your rating, so it is not a disadvantage.
